ABOUT THE ROLE

Lucerno Policy Insights (LPI) sits at the intellectual core of the organisation. As a Policy Analyst, you will produce original policy analysis on domestic and international topics, contribute to LPI\\\\\\\'s publication programme, and help position Lucerno as a credible voice in the policy research space. This role is best suited to students or graduates with a serious interest in public policy, international affairs, or regulatory analysis who want to build a published record before entering the sector professionally.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Research and author policy analysis papers, briefing notes, and commentary pieces

•   Contribute to LPI\\\\\\\'s publication schedule, meeting agreed editorial deadlines

•   Assist in peer-reviewing and fact-checking fellow analysts\\\\\\\' work

•   Monitor policy developments, government publications, and legislative changes relevant to LPI focus areas

•   Support the Policy Manager and Policy Director in developing LPI\\\\\\\'s research agenda

•   Engage professionally with Lucerno\\\\\\\'s external platforms and represent LPI in public-facing materials

 

ABOUT YOU

•   Studying or recently graduated in politics, international relations, public policy, law, or a related discipline

•   Strong analytical writing skills. You can synthesise complex information into clear, structured argument

•   Familiarity with policy research methodology and the ability to cite primary sources correctly

•   Intellectually rigorous with a commitment to evidence-based reasoning

•   Reliable, organised, and comfortable with asynchronous remote work

 

DESIRABLE (NOT REQUIRED)

•   Prior published work in student journalism, policy blogs, or think tank research

•   Language skills relevant to LPI\\\\\\\'s European expansion focus (French, German, Polish, or Dutch)

•   Interest in a specific policy domain, such as technology regulation, energy, trade, or social policy particularly relevant to contemporary global politics

•   Experience with freedom of information requests, parliamentary data, or regulatory databases
